Srinagar: J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board’s (JKBOCWWB) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today distributed Rs. 1.034 crore to the wards of 1474 registered construction workers and beneficiaries on account of education assistance.

The Deputy Commissioner explained that the Government runs a number of programmes for the welfare of building and other construction workers with the goal of regulating employment and working conditions as well as providing safety, health, and welfare measures for the registered workers.

An sum of Rs 3.88 crore has been given as education assistance to the 10554 wards of 7671 registered employees during the current financial year 2022–23, the Assistant Labour Commissioner informed the DC at the commencement.

In a similar manner, during the same time period, Rs 5.15 crore were also distributed to 7699 recipients through several JKBOCWWB programmes, including Death Assistance, Chronic Disease Assistance, and Disability/Medical Assistance.
