Nov. 10, Ganderbal: As part of ongoing efforts to rid society of the drug problem, police in Ganderbal apprehended a drug dealer and found illegal substances in his presence.
During regular naka checking at Sumbal Bridge, a suspicious individual was caught by a police force headed by in-charge Police Post Shadipora, under the direction of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal. Upon inspection, 2 kilograms, or 720 grams, of poppy bulbs hidden within a white nylon bag were found in his possession. Joginder Paul, a native of Blore Pathankot, Punjab, has been identified as the culprit. After being taken into custody, he was taken to the police station.
As a result, PS Ganderbal has opened a case under FIR No. 310/2023 and begun an investigation in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
“The general public is urged to call 112 or the closest police station if they see drug sales or any other kind of criminal activity occurring nearby. The public is asked to work with law enforcement to eliminate the drug threat from society. We guarantee the community that we will enforce the law and act toughly against offenders,” the police said.
