A mudslide in Udhampur caused the collapse of a home, killing a woman inside

Locals and police located her corpse and took it to the mortuary.

On Friday, July 28th, a mudslide in Katwalt village, Ramnagar tehsil, Udhampur district, caused the collapse of a home, killing a 65-year-old lady inside.

Kisho Devi, wife of Bari villager Kapoora, has been named as the victim. She was inside her house when it was destroyed by the mudslide.

Locals and police located her corpse, took it to the hospital, and pronounced her dead there.

Heavy rains in the vicinity are suspected to have triggered the mudslide, however this has not been confirmed.

The police have opened an investigation and a case has been filed.
