After 30 years, the J&K government lets the Muharram 08 parade happen in Srinagar

The parade will go from Shaheed Gunj to Dalgate, which is the usual path. Srinagar, July 26: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said on Wednesday that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has officially given permission for the Muharram 8 parade to take place in Srinagar, the summer capital.
Vijay Kumar Bidhuri was quoted by GNS as saying that the parade will be allowed to go along the usual route for two hours, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. “The decision was made after taking into account everything that was going on at the time,” he said.
Notably, the parade will go on the usual route from Shaheed Gunj to Dalgate, which hasn’t been used for processions since 1989 because of problems with law and order.
