Cases of a New Corona Variant, EG-5, Have Increased

COVID-19 instances and hospitalisations have increased, and a new form of EG.5 is on the rise.

Canada Recent estimates from the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention place the proportion of new cases of COVID-19 attributable to EG.5 at about 17%, with the next most prevalent lineage, XBB.1.16, accounting for 16%.
