December 1st, Srinagar: On Friday, Justice N Kotiswar Singh, Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, and Justice Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, Administrative Judge for District Reasi, met via video conference with the District Reasi judicial officers to discuss the status of various infrastructure projects for the District Judiciary Reasi as well as the cases that are currently pending.

Achal Sethi, J&K’s Secretary of the Department of Law and Justice, participated in the meeting electronically as well.
“The Registrar General of the High Court released a statement saying that the Chief Justice expedited the pending work of various projects during the meeting by first reviewing the status and progress of various judicial infrastructure projects and passing on spot directions to the concerned executing agency.”

The statement further said, “The Chief Justice then reviewed the court’s workload and the status of pending cases, emphasizing the need for the judicial officers to expedite the resolution of older cases and update cases with their CIS status.”

Additionally, the Chief Justice acknowledged the issues facing the courts and immediately directed the judicial officers on how to resolve the issues at hand.

Shahzad Azeem, the Registrar General, and M.K. Sharma, the Chief Justice’s Principal Secretary, were also present at the meeting.
