August 18 (Reuters) – BOGOTA On Thursday, a powerful earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit the Colombian city of Bogota, causing terrified citizens to rush into the streets and resulting in the death of one lady who fell to her death.
The national geological office of Colombia estimated the magnitude of the quake to be 6.1, however there were no reports of significant damage right away.

“It was strong, and it lasted a long time,” said Adrian Alarcon, a 43-year-old who works in the capital’s bustling Park 93 sector.
