Budgam, Dec. 24: Despite the building of a water reservoir and the installation of a pipeline in the region, the people living in Narwara, Beerwah, and the nearby villages of Meripora, Machama, and Draggar in the Budgam district of central Kashmir are experiencing a serious lack of access to clean drinking water.
A local citizen named Firdous Ahmad voiced worries about the unmet promise of having access to clean drinking water, pointing out the inadequate and ineffective water infrastructure.
“The lack of drinkable water persists in the neighborhood even after the necessary infrastructure has been in place for years. Residents are now turning to other sources, such as ponds and streams, which puts the community’s health in serious danger, “he added.
Another resident, Abdul Ahad, pleaded with the relevant agency to act quickly to resolve the issue.
In order to allay worries about the area’s health problems becoming worse, he called for quick action to guarantee the supply of clean, dependable drinking water.
In the meantime, the locals stress how critical it is to find a solution to this issue quickly for the community’s welfare.
