In New Delhi: According to official sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed to order relevant authorities to step up their efforts for quick disengagement and de-escalation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

When questioned about the conversation between Modi and Xi at the BRICS summit press conference in Johannesburg, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that both presidents agreed to order relevant authorities to step up efforts for swift disengagement and de-escalation.

According to the Foreign Secretary, the Prime Minister brought up unsolved problems along the LAC during his talk with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

PM Modi discussed the tensions in the LAC during a chat outside of the BRICS summit. According to Kwatra, it was not a formal bilateral.

He said that the leaders of the BRICS decided to add six more members to the group, which was a significant result of the meeting.

Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are the other six members. Modi interacted with other BRICS leaders outside of the meeting, according to Kwatra.

“PM Modi emphasised that one of the fundamental elements of intra-BRICS cooperation is the BRICS Business Forum. He discussed a crucial topic, namely the need for inclusive and robust supply networks. Additionally, the value of openness and trust amongst BRICS nations, Kwatra told reporters.

“He (Modi) wrote to the G20 leaders over the G20’s inclusion of the African Union. We have vigorously advocated for it to be a G20 permanent member. Therefore, if all goes as planned, it should probably become G21, the foreign secretary stated.

The conservation of big cats, namely the five large animals in South Africa that are protected by the International Big Cat Alliance, was a topic that the prime minister touched on that is very important to both South Africa and many other African nations. He developed a storehouse of traditional medicines among the BRICS nations, which is significant for all of them, the foreign secretary said.
