9 October, New Delhi [India]: In Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana, there will be assembly elections under a timetable released by the Election Commission on Monday.
Mizoram will have elections on November 7, while Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and all of the other states will hold elections on November 17 and 23, respectively.
On December 3, all states will conduct the voting process’s vote-counting.
Rajiv Kumar, chief election commissioner, revealed the election dates during a news conference held at this location. Chhattisgarh will have two rounds of voting out of the five states.
When the polling dates were announced, the Model Code of Conduct went into effect.
Being conducted months before the Lok Sabha elections in April or May of next year, the five state polls are significant.
In Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, the Congress and BJP are the major forces. Three political parties—the BJP, Congress, and Bharat Rashtra Samithi—are anticipated to compete in Telangana. (ANI)
