Srinagar, August 14: The recent rainy period has provided some relief from the sweltering heat.
According to MeT department representatives, Monday’s showers brought down the temperature in most areas.
According to the officials, the Jammu division did not see any significant rain. They predicted that on the night between Monday and Tuesday, the Jammu division would probably get a few isolated rains.
“This will probably be a short period, mostly over Kashmir, and the upcoming days will be dry as there is no significant forecast until this month’s 22nd. There may be a few isolated showers in the Jammu division on Monday night or Tuesday morning. There is no significant prognosis for the upcoming 24 hours, according to Mukhtar Ahmad, Deputy Director MeT.
Since no significant weather events are expected, he projected that the weather will be dry until this month’s 22nd.
“On Tuesday, the rain will provide some relief from the heat, but because there isn’t expected to be much rain in the next days, the temperature will fluctuate around 30 degrees Celsius. But in the upcoming days, we cannot completely exclude out nighttime light thundershowers,” he said.
In the meantime, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 21.0 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 32.3 degrees Celsius on Monday. Jammu recorded a minimum temperature of 23.6 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 31.0 degrees. Leh recorded a high temperature of 27.0 °C and a low temperature of 13.8 °C.
