Srinagar, August 16: The Handwara Police eradicated wild bung in the Handwara and Chogal regions as part of ongoing attempts to rid the community of its drug problem.
There was a particular drive against wild bung in the Handwara and Chogal areas, and it was led by a police party from Police Station Handwara in coordination with the concerned Magistrate, the Handwara Municipal Committee, and villagers. A massive amount of wild bung across extensive expanses of land was eradicated during the campaign.
The citizens of these communities have expressed their gratitude to the police and promised their continued support in the fight against the drug problem. “Residents are urged to report any knowledge they may have about illegal crop production in their area. Police have warned that anyone caught selling or growing illegal drugs will face the full force of the law.
