A search late on Thursday night at a residence in Atmananda Colony close to RT Nagar turned up the cash, totaling Rs 42 crore. According to sources, 23 boxes beneath the bed contained 42 crore rupees worth of Rs 500 notes. The cash was discovered in one of the two places that the IT officers raided in RT Nagar after receiving a tip.

According to sources, the apartment was vacant and uninhabited; nonetheless, the IT sleuths remain mum on the apartment’s owner. Following this development, the former corporator and her spouse are being questioned by the IT officials at their home. Sources claim that the corporator’s spouse is a contractor and a member of the Contractor’s Association, which has accused the previous BJP administration of receiving a 40% commission on contracts.

The contractor had also accused other political figures of wrongdoing. Regarding the occurrence, further information is yet to come to light.
