J-K: The CEO directs the SMC and JMC election registers to be revised

The Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir ordered a special review of the electoral records for the Jammu and Srinagar Municipal Corporations on Friday, which was a major step.

The CEO has issued an order directing a special summary review of the voting lists for SMC and JMC.

The action is seen as the first step towards conducting elections for Jammu and Kashmir’s urban local bodies.

The final electoral rolls would be issued on August 25 in accordance with the order, and the draught electoral rolls would be made public on August 1st this year. (KNO)
