On Monday, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was reported by Ramban (March 25) to be open for two-way traffic of light, medium, and heavy vehicles.

However, according to traffic officials, the slow flow of traffic is still due to a few big trucks breaking down and one road, along with poor surface conditions at numerous points along the highway between Nashri and Banihal, including Dalwass, Mehar-Cafeteria, Ramban, Panthyal Magarkote, Shalgari, Nachlana, and many more.

Hundreds of light, medium, and heavy trucks passed through the Nashri-Banihal sector on their way to their destinations without any problems, according to traffic authorities who were monitoring the management of traffic in Ramban. The route stayed open all day.
According to them, there has been a controlled movement of heavy cargo trucks towards Kashmir.

While this was going on, Tuesday’s revised warning from the Jammu and Kashmir traffic police said that, weather permitting and with enough road clearance, light and medium vehicles may use either side of the road.

They opted to open the National Highway to big vehicles after assessing Tuesday’s road and traffic conditions.

However, they reiterated their earlier warning that nighttime driving on the National Highway between Ramban and Banihal might result in the audibility of gunshots; thus, drivers, commuters, and others should exercise care. You should only drive on the Srinagar Jammu National Highway during the day while you are on your excursion.
