Assuming favourable road and weather conditions The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) will be open to passenger and private vehicles, as well as trucks and other large vehicles travelling from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa. It’s important for commuters to stay in their lanes.
SF’s Movement in a Convoy
Providing safe driving conditions prevails The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) would be open to vehicles from the Security Forces in both directions, from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa.
ROUTE SSG
Vehicle traffic on the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari route would be permitted from both directions, from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa, provided that the weather cooperates and the road is in excellent repair. From Minamarg, traffic headed towards Srinagar would be restricted to LMVs and HMVs only between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. From Sonamarg to Kargil, LMVs followed by HMVs will be permitted between the hours of 1300 and 1700. After the designated time, no vehicles will be permitted.
The SFs Convoy will depart Srinagar for Kargil at 8:00 a.m. The SFs convoy travelling between Drass and Srinagar must coordinate their routes so as to minimise disruptions to civilian traffic.
Mughal Highway
Vehicle traffic on Mughal Road, both from Poonch to Shopian and in the other direction, is expected to resume once the weather improves and the road is repaired. From Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) between the hours of 06:00 and 1800, these vehicles will be permitted. When the clock strikes midnight, no vehicle is permitted.
