Jammu, July 25: As a part of the 23rd batch, 3025 Amarnath Yatris set off for Pahalgam and Baltal on Tuesday in order to go to the Amarnath cave shrine, which is tucked away in the south Kashmir Himalayas.
A convoy of 119 cars carrying 3025 yatris, comprising 2270 men, 696 women, 4 children, 48 Sadhus, and 5 Sadhvis, departed from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp on Tuesday morning under strict security measures, according to officials. A total of 1865 yatris, comprising 1535 men, 275 women, two children, 48 sadhus, and 5 sadhvis, picked the Pahalgam route, whereas 1160 yatris, consisting of 735 men, 421 women, and two children, chose the Baltal route.

Beginning on July 1, the yatra would last on August 31.
