August 26 in Srinagar: The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Kashmir (KU) sponsored a guest lecture on “Pharmaceutical Marketing: Career Option After B. Pharm” to highlight the lucrative job opportunities in pharmaceutical marketing for pharmacy graduates. This programme is a part of the university’s effort to concentrate on placement of pass-out students, which is one of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan’s top goals.
Aseem Rustogi, Head of Marketing for the Ophthalmology Division at ALKEM Laboratories, gave a presentation on the rapidly changing pharmaceutical industry.
He addressed the importance of marketing in delivering game-changing medical advances to the general public and highlighted the complexities and difficulties of promoting pharmaceutical goods.
Aseem Rustogi highlighted the need for a combination of pharmaceutical expertise and marketing know-how, saying, “We need to stay attuned to industry trends and harness digital platforms for impactful marketing campaigns.”
According to Prof. Zulfiqar Ali Bhat, dean of the school of applied sciences and technology, the university supports students by holding such lectures, exposing them to business leaders, and equipping them for prosperous careers in the pharmaceutical sector.
Such connections, according to him, “bridge the gap between academia and industry, giving students real-world insights.”
The discussion inspired our aspiring chemists to investigate the variety of options in pharmaceutical marketing, according to Prof. Mubashir Hussain Masoodi, head of the department of pharmaceutical sciences at KU.
The seminar was attended by faculty, students, and industry enthusiasts who learned about the vast opportunities in the pharmaceutical business.
