On the occasion of World Lion Day, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the efforts of individuals who are trying to preserve lion habitat on Thursday in New Delhi.
Celebrating the mighty and magnificent lions that win our hearts every time is the purpose of World Lion Day.
“India takes great pride in being home to the Asiatic Lions, and there has been a steady increase in the lion population in India over the last several years. The Prime Minister stated his support for efforts to preserve lion habitat in a tweet.
He prayed, “May we continue to cherish and protect them, ensuring they thrive for generations to come.”
Bhupender Yadav, minister of the environment, forests, and climate change for the Indian government, also used Twitter to commemorate the day, writing, “On World Lion Day 2023, my heartfelt wishes to all dedicated to their preservation.”
As the country’s official symbol, the Asiatic lion in India inspires great pride. Yadav said that the growth in their population was due to “persistent conservation efforts and remarkable community spirit in Gujarat.”
