Kangan, August 25: In compliance with government directives, the Public Works Division (R&B) launched its newest Sub Divisional Office in the tehsi of Gund in the district of Ganderbal on Friday. SE R&B Ganderbal Nisar Ahmed officially opened the office in the presence of the departing executive engineer Ganderbal Tatheer Ahmed, the Executive Engineer of the R&B division in Kangan, Zahoor Ahmed, and the Assistant Executive Engineer of the R&B sub division in Gund, Ghulam Qadir.
Others in attendance were District Deputy Commissioner Hariganiwan Noorani Jara, Block Development Commissioner Rafiq Ahmed, Tehsil Civil Society Chairman Gund, and Contractors Union President Gund. Long overdue, the opening of an R&B office will contribute to the growth of the surrounding community. Gund’s CST chairman has thanked the LG government for opening an R&B office on base.
As it relates to the topic at hand, the Government had mandated a reorganisation of the Public Works (R&B) Department’s cadre and a rationalisation of the jurisdiction of its subordinate and field offices, aligning them with the territorial limits of divisions, districts, and blocks in Jammu and Kashmir. The district of Ganderbal is one of the first to begin carrying out the directives.
