Arif Mohammed Khan, the governor of Kerala, is in charge of the national Sufi conference.
Srinagar: On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the true Sufism was a peaceful connection without difference. LG Sinha highlighted the impact of Sufism on the culture and traditions of J&K while attending a national convention on “Sufism: A Bridge Between Communities” held by Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) in collaboration with J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in Srinagar. The convention was presided over by Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammed Khan.
“Real Sufism is harmony without difference across all sects, people, and connections with the whole of reality. According to the LG, it is a way of life that fosters and spreads the values of interpersonal love, peace, and harmony.
“J&K is a place where Sufis and Rishis live. It is a place that honours all forms of religion and spirituality. To restore peace and harmony to society, proponents of terrorism and separatism have been neutralised, and those who have sown discord in this paradise have been wiped off, the leader said.
Sinha described the transformative path that J&K has taken in the direction of peace, prosperity, and inclusive development.
“In the past, the average man used to take the brunt of the shutdown calls made in the valley by a small group of individuals with personal agendas. These days are no longer here, he remarked. “Peace is prevailing, nightlife has returned, and people are living freely.”
The 8th Muharram procession was carried out peacefully in Srinagar today for the first time in more than 30 years, according to the LG, making it a historic event.
He expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Kerala for coming to the conference and blessed the attendees with his words of knowledge.
For their efforts to advance the Sufi traditions, Sinha commended the CUS and JKAACL.
In order to foster unity, he also urged the populace to adopt Rishi-Sufi customs and get rid of any signs of division between different groups of people.
Lal Ded, Nund Rishi, Sufis, and saints from J&K strengthened the sense of togetherness and oneness, as Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammed Khan had earlier recalled.
According to Khan, “Their teachings and writings will continue to be the beacon of light for humanity.” “Our ancient past imparts to us lessons of compassion, love, and peace. All religious and sectarian groups together form one big family. The largest Indian strength enabling our wonderful country to prosper is the continuation of our culture, beliefs, and traditions.
A thorough review of the Convention was provided by Vice Chancellor CUS Prof. Qayyum Husain.
