30 July, Srinagar: Officials said that Shakil Ahmad Ganie, an Indian Revenue Service (IT) officer from the 2016 batch, has joined the Srinagar office as Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax.
The officer, who worked in the department’s investigative division and gained diverse expertise in areas like Jammu, Jalandhar, and Amritsar, has now returned to his home station in Srinagar and will have authority over the Kashmir valley. They said that the officer, who once held the position of deputy director (investigation) in Srinagar and is a native of the valley, had returned to the city to support national revenue interests via his experience, knowledge, and intimate familiarity with the area’s culture and other quirks.
