The OBC Morcha of the BJP seeks a 27% quota in ULBs and panchayats

Jammu: On Thursday, J&K BJP OBC Morcha President Sunil Prajapati asked that the community (OBC) have a 27% quota in panchayats and urban local bodies (ULBs).

Prajapati said it was encouraging that the government had proposed an amendment to the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Corporation, Municipalities, and Panchayati Raj Acts to provide Other Backward Classes (OBCs) with reservation in the Urban Local Bodies (ULBS) and Panchayats and that elections to the two bodies would only be held after the OBCs had received their reservation.
