The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway would stay open on Saturday, August 4 for two-way traffic of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) and one-way traffic of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) in and out of Kashmir, according to reports from Ramban on August 4.
Amarnath Yatra convoy vehicles transporting yatris and LMVs would be permitted to operate on both sides of the route on Saturday, according to an advice from the J&K Traffic Department, provided that the weather and road conditions are favourable.
HMVs will be permitted to travel from Jakhani-Udhampur to Kashmir after the route and traffic conditions have been evaluated.
However, they stressed that no heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be permitted to go via Jakhani, Udhampur towards Kashmir after 6 p.m.
On Friday, authorities responsible for traffic control in Kelamorh, Ramban, reported that “the vehicular traffic was disrupted for a brief period due to tumbling of shooting stones from a hillock at tunnel T-2, Kelamorh between Ramban and Ramsu.”
