One of the wounded was sent to SMHS hospital for specialized care after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.
19 July, Srinagar: According to police, two workers of the forest department were hurt when terrorists opened fire at the Bangender Bridge in the Pulwama region of south Kashmir.
According to a police spokeswoman, Rajpora police station learned via a reliable source that terrorists had opened fire on a team from the district of Budgam’s forest department, injuring two staff members.
He said that the workers had set up a roadblock at Bangender Bridge, which is under the control of PS Rajpora in the district of Pulwama, to catch the wood smugglers.
The wounded were given medical attention right away at a hospital.
The wounded have been named as Imran Yousaf Wani, a resident of Mohnu, Charar-i-Sharif, and Jahangir Ahmad Chechi, a resident of Gogjipather Chadoora, who is the son of Mohd Yousaf Wani.
According to the spokesperson, Imran was shot in the thigh. For specialist care, SMHS hospital was recommended to him.
Jahangir, a forester, had received just minor, superficial injuries, according to the statement, and was thereafter released.
“Regarding the incident, a case vide FIR No. 79/2023 under sections 16,20 UAP (Act), 307 IPC and 7/27 IA Act got registered in PS Rajpora and investigation has been initiated,” he said.
Soon after the event, police, the army, and CAPFs blocked off the whole region and began a thorough search.
“Two empty Ak-47 ammunition cartridges that had been shot as well as one bullet head were found during the investigation of the murder scene. The search effort is still in progress, he said.
