Stake money seized.
On the 12th of July, police in Baramulla detained 2 gamblers and confiscated their stake money in a show of force against this heinous social crime.
Two gamblers were apprehended when a police team headed by Incharge PP Babareshi searched a particular location after receiving information about gambling operations in the area of Forest Hut Babareshi Crossing. They have been named as Shabir Ahmad Dar of Pandithpora Bala Tangmarg and Showkat Ahmad Lone of Qazipora.
Police confiscated Rs 10,570/- in wagering funds and a deck of cards. They are now being held in custody at the police station.
As a result, Tangmarg Police have opened an investigation and filed a complaint under the applicable laws.
Those who are caught partaking in illegal behaviour will face legal consequences. The police have issued an appeal for the community to report crimes in their area to the nearest police station.
