Two narcotics dealers were detained in Kulgam's Anantnag

Srinagar, Nov. 2: As part of ongoing efforts to rid society of the drug problem, police have detained two drug dealers in the South Kashmiri districts of Anantnag and Kulgam and taken illegal narcotics from their hands.
At a checkpoint set up at Hassanpora Crossing, a police team from PS Bijbehara stopped an Alto driven by Sajad Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Mooman Danjipora, with registration number JK02AM-9204. Officers found 20 bottles of codeine phosphate in his possession during the search. Along with his arrest, the car that was used to commit the crime has also been confiscated.
In the meantime, the Kulgam police acquired specific information about illegal chemicals found in Nillow resident Mubashir Ahmad Bhat’s home. After that, a special squad headed by SHO PS Kulgam and overseen by SP Hqrs Kulgam Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, together with the relevant magistrate, raided the location and took from the aforementioned residential property 12 kg of poppy straw, a grinder, and digital weighing equipment. After being taken into custody, the home’s owner was taken to the police station.
As a result, investigations have been started, and cases under pertinent legal sections have been lodged at the appropriate places.
