Srinagar, August 6: A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was apprehended in the Anantnag area of south Kashmir for his claimed ties to terrorism by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad.
Anantnag district ATS determined that the guy was Firdaus Ahmad Dar. Ahmad Raza, another individual suspected of having ties to Hizbul Mujahideen, was detained on Thursday after it was discovered that he had been in contact with Pakistani terror and Hizbul Mujahideen handlers, according to a statement released by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad.
The ATS personnel went over state lines to Anantnag, where they nabbed Dar with the help of the local police. Dar was taken into custody on Friday and is now being held in Uttar Pradesh on transit remand.
After a medical evaluation, he was reportedly brought before a local court, which then granted transit remand to the ATS.
