August 4th, Srinagar: The Peoples Conference (PC) has said that it would keep fighting for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to be restored.
A “dark day” and a “day of disempowerment” in Jammu and Kashmir’s history, the party declared August 5 would never be forgotten. According to the report, this day serves as a constant reminder of the shame that the people of J&K have endured over the last several years.
On August 5, the people of Jammu and Kashmir lost their independence and were rendered powerless and silent. The choices taken on that day have had far-reaching effects, PC Spokesperson Adnan Ashraf Mir said in a statement, impacting every facet of life in J&K and creating scars that serve as a continual reminder of the humiliation endured by the people of J&K.
According to Mir, the rulings were not only vindictive but also ran counter to the principles of democracy and the federal nature of the Indian State.
Moreover, “it is crucial to remember that these decisions were thrust forcefully upon the populace of J&K,” he said.
