Police in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka said on August 22 that actor Prakash Raj had been charged over an alleged social media post in which he made fun of India’s planned third moon mission, Chandrayaan-3.
Actor Prakash Raj has been reported for his role in the Chandrayaan-3 expedition, according to the police.
“Hindu organisations leaders filed a complaint against the actor in Banahatti police station of Bagalkote district and have demanded action,” they said.
On Sunday, the seasoned actor posted a cartoon depicting a guy with a shirt and lungi pouring tea on microblogging site X.
On his post, he captioned the image, “First view just arrived from Chandrayaan.. #VikramLander #justasking.”
Since then, Prakash Raj has taken a lot of criticism from individuals who believe the Chandrayaan-3 project is integral to the dignity of India.
In light of widespread online condemnation Prakash Raj said on X that he was joking when he made the remarks. “Hate sees only Hate…”I was alluding to a joke made about our kerala Chaiwala in the #Armstrong times; whose Chaiwala did the trolls manage to miss? The joke is on you if you don’t understand it.He wrote, “GROW UP #justasking.”
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) estimates that the Chandrayaan-3 will touch down on the moon at about 18:04 hours IST on August 23.
At 17:27 IST on August 23, 2023, viewers in India will be able to watch the launch live on the ISRO website, ISRO’s YouTube channel, ISRO’s Facebook page, and DD National TV.
After the United States, Russia, and China, India will be the fourth nation to reach the moon, but it will be the first to land on the moon’s south pole.
To show a safe and gentle landing on the lunar surface; to demonstrate rover wandering on the moon; and to perform in-situ scientific investigations; these are the three principal goals of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
In January of 2020, work began on Chandrayaan-3, with a launch scheduled for 2021. However, the expedition was set back because to the Covid-19 epidemic.
At 2:35 p.m. local time on July 14, 2023, the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, launched the GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle carrying the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
