Ramban, October 13: In a significant development, the construction on Khari Railway station on the 111-long Banihal-Katra part of the Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project in Ramban district is practically finished and ready for operation. Earlier in the month of August, a successful maiden trial run was carried out on the 8.6 km long train tunnel known as T-74, as well as on other significant segments. These runs were taking place between the Banihal and Khari railway stations.
According to what they claimed, the work that was being done on the track, platforms, railway station, and other connected works has finished. They went on to say that the job of laying the track between the Summer and Sangaldan stations is ongoing around the clock and is getting close to being finished.
Officials from the railway have stated that the construction of living quarters for railway staff as well as other infrastructure for railway stations at Khari, Sumber, and Sangaldan is nearly finished. They reported that construction on the platforms and the laying of the railway tracks that will connect the Sumber and Sangaldan stations in the Rambam neighbourhood are already underway.
On the Katra-Banihal route in the Ramban district, they indicated that we are working nonstop to finish the outstanding work on three critical stations: Khari, Sumber, and Sangaldan. They went on to say that they were anticipating the Katra-Banihal portion of the rail to begin operating soon. Mussarat Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Ramban, stated that the work on Khari Railway Station is getting very close to being finished. He expressed his belief that it would be beneficial to the marketing of tourism in the Mahu Valley of Khari.
