29 July, Srinagar: A labourer from the Bandipora region of north Kashmir went over 85 km on Saturday to arrive at Zadibal to give blood on the eve of Ashoora.
Abdul Rehman Najar, a resident of Bandipora’s Rafiabad neighbourhood, was introduced to the journalist by the Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Correspondent as he was giving blood today during the major Muharram parade in the Zadibal region.
To give blood in Zadibal, Najar has travelled about 85 km. Najar claims that he has been giving blood on this day for the last several years, and that he has done so about ten times to date.
“Donating blood is always the best way to stay strong,” he added, adding that doing so aims to save the priceless lives of others.
He continued by saying that he has been giving blood to assist the sick people in saving their lives.
“The majority of people are reluctant to donate blood, yet the truth is that doing so keeps you strong and healthy. I was experiencing certain skin-related problems, but ever since I began giving blood, all of them have been resolved.
