Srinagar, August 20: The 62-day Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2023 began on July 1 and will end with Chadi Mubarak on August 31.

The Yatra began simultaneously from Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal.

The officials told GNS that around 4.4 lakh people had visited the Holy Amarnathji Shrine this year.

Shrine Board officials advise against pilgrims travelling on both tracks leading to the Holy Cave due to a significant decrease in pilgrimage and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) urgent repairs and maintenance of the Yatra tracks at vulnerable stretches.

Thus, starting August 23, 2023, the Yatra will be discontinued from both routes. On August 31, Chadi Mubarak will follow the customary Pahalgam route to conclude Yatra 2023.(GNS)
