Bhaderwah, May 24: A vehicle transporting seven construction workers to a dam building site in the Dachan tehsil of Kishtwar plunged down a narrow canyon, killing them all and badly injuring two more. According to authorities, the tragedy happened at approximately 8.30 am in the isolated Dangdooru village.

“The car slid into the 300-foot-deep chasm, instantly killing seven workers and wounding two more. According to Dr. Devansh Yadav, the district hospital in Kishtwar received the wounded.

The van with the licence plate JK06 – 3095 was transporting all of the local workmen from Dachan to the location of the dam that was being built.

According to the authorities, the wounded were described as being in serious condition. When the latest news arrived, the rescue effort was still underway.

One dead person has been named. Sudesh Kumar, son of Karam Chand, is a resident of Kutwara, Kasturigarh.
