In Kulgam, the process of registering births and deaths was evaluated

The District Statistics and Evaluation Officer (Addl. District Registrar) began by providing an overview of the website’s functionality (crsorgi.gov.in) and outlining the Registrars’ organisational structure.

CMO Kulgam said that 99% of births occur in hospitals, and those births are being recorded by the appropriate authorities.

Concerned Registrar (Registrar Rural/Urban) should get NOC from CMO prior to issuing birth certificates in situations of non-institutional births, as discussed by the DC during the discussions. CMO was tasked with keeping detailed records of all births that take place in hospitals so that fraudulent claims could be investigated.
