The weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours calls for cloudy skies and a colder temperature on Tuesday.

It will be gloomy and rainy in Jammu and Kashmir, but only in isolated spots. A spokesperson for the weather service predicted that today will be a much milder day.

According to him, several parts of J-K might have periods of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms on July 5.

He predicted that several parts of J-K will have mild to moderate rain on and off from the 6th to the 8th of July. It is possible that “some places in the plains of the Jammu region may receive moderate to heavy spells during morning hours,” he said.

According to him, today’s low in Srinagar was 17.8 degrees Celsius, which is 0.7 degrees Celsius higher than average for the summer capital. Yesterday, the low was 19.0 degrees Celsius.

He reported that Qazigund, the valley’s entry point, had a low of 17.8 degrees Celsius, up from 17.0 degrees the night before and 2.3 degrees above usual.

According to him, the temperature at Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, dropped to 10.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday night, down from 11.5 degrees the night before.

He reported an increase of 0.5 degrees Celsius over usual for the north Kashmir region, with the mercury falling to 16.0 degrees in Kupwara town from 16.7 the night before.

Officials said that Kokernag had a low of 15.2 degrees Celsius, which was 0.3 degrees Celsius above usual compared to the 16.7 degrees Celsius recorded the night before.

He said that the famed skiing resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district had a low of 11.8 degrees Celsius, which was 0.9 degrees Celsius above usual. The previous night had been 13.4 degrees Celsius.

The temperature dropped to 26.7 degrees in the winter capital of J&K last night, up from 28.1 degrees the night before and 1.1 degrees above average for this time of year.

Low temperatures were recorded at 16.8 degrees in Banihal (0.5 degrees above normal), 18.5 degrees in Batote (1.0 degrees above normal), 19.6 degrees in Katra (2.4 degrees below normal), and 17.9 degrees in Bhaderwah (1.9 degrees above normal), the official said.
