Prof. Parvaiz A. Koul, the director of SKIMS, went to the camp in person and urged volunteers to give to events like this one.

Many non-governmental organisations (NGOs), such as Al Iman Youth Foundation, Awaz-o-Ehsas, Medical Aid Forum Kangan, and G.R. Beigh Memorial Trust, as well as medical and paramedical staff from SKIMS, gave blood.

The event’s Head of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology said that so far, more than 70 units of blood have been gathered. She thanked all the givers for how many of them there were. She also thanked the event’s organiser, Director SKIMS.

World Blood Donor Day is held every year on June 14 to thank people who give blood without expecting anything in return and to praise life and people.
