Northern Railways has planned to conduct three special trains from New Delhi to Jammu-Udhampur-Katra from June 2 to July 30, ahead of the tourist season and the accompanying summer holidays in schools and other institutions throughout the nation.

According to officials, the special trains will be put into operation on June 2 in anticipation of a large influx of pilgrims throughout the summer vacations across the nation.

“Three summer special trains from New Delhi to Jammu to Katra will start operating on June 2 to cater to the rush of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims,” government sources said.

They said that the special train from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra would begin on June 2 and will depart from New Delhi Station at 11:15 PM every Friday and arrive in Katra at 11:25 AM the following day. The train from Katra is scheduled to depart every Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur would be stops on the special train with AC coaches.

The special train New Delhi-Udhampur-New Delhi (04075/04076) will operate from June 1 to July 30. According to reports, the train would depart New Delhi at 11:15 p.m. every Thursday and arrive in Udhampur at 10:55 a.m. the following day.

at exchange, it will depart Udhampur every Friday at 7 p.m., with stops at Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala, Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu Tawi.

Another weekly special train between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra would alleviate pilgrims by making four circuits between June 3 and July 25.

The train will depart New Delhi at 11:15 p.m. on Saturdays and arrive in Katra at 11:25 a.m. on Sundays, with stops at Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur. (KNO)
