July 2nd, New Delhi: The national government intends to make geotagging of all firms’ locations obligatory in order to combat the practise of fraudulent GST bills and fictitious corporations.

According to finance ministry insiders, there are also plans to make biometric verification required for firms identified as dangerous.

They stated that this exercise would assist enhance the GST system.

According to ministry authorities, the vetting of new organisations during their registration should be more meticulous in order to filter out bogus companies.

According to reports, the government intends to deploy biometric verification through PAN and Aadhaar for dangerous or suspect companies to achieve this.

The actual presence of the business entity’s address is required under GST regulation.

According to ministry officials, the government has initiated trial programmes in a few states to geotag addresses of commercial organisations in order to verify their legitimacy, and it may soon become a necessary operation.
