The J&K Administrative Council (AC) had a meeting under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today, and they voted to spend Rs. 31.58 crore upgrading and renovating Transport Nagar at Parimpora (Srinagar).
The meeting was attended by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, the LG’s advisor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, the Chief Secretary of J&K, and Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, the LG’s principal secretary.

The Rs. 30.00 Cr. budgeted for the project covers the cost of constructing the necessary infrastructure (road network, sewerage & drainage network, electric network). Expenditures of Rs. 1.58 Cr. are included for park and green space development as well as for other costs such as consulting.

In addition to unifying all of Srinagar’s transport providers, the project’s broader goal is to reduce traffic congestion inside the city itself. It also foresees establishing an adequate road network and other infrastructure at this crucial commercial hub. When finished, this project will improve the quality of life for countless individuals and businesses across a wide range of industries, including roughly 76 transit providers.
