Two patients at a private clinic in Kupwara have reportedly died due to medical malpractice, prompting the local district magistrate to file a first information report (FIR).
In a communiqué to SSP concerned Yougal Manhas, District Magistrate Kupwara Dr. Doifode Saggar Dattatray requested that a FIR be filed and an investigation into the ‘ESS BEE’ clinic be launched.

Mudasir Rashid Sofi, son of Abdul Rashid Sofi, resident of Potushahi, Lolab, and Tahira Begum, wife of Qaiser Ahmad Wani, resident of Tikipora, Lolab, died recently, allegedly as a result of medical negligence at ESS BEE clinic Kupwara, according to a communique a copy of which can be found at GNS.

For the reasons stated above, a First Report of Incident (FIR) and preliminary investigation are sought.

An investigation into the event was authorised by this office under Order number DCK/2023/209/977-80, dated 16-05-2023, the document continues.
