The rumour circulating online that female students have been told not to wear the Abaya is completely false and being misinterpreted. She reassured them that the school’s administration has always been sensitive to concerns from different demographics about the dress code.

them were respectfully reminded to wear their school uniforms beneath their abayas, but the message made it clear that the school administration does not prohibit them from doing so.

Students are free to wear the Abaya to school, and no policies prohibiting its use have been implemented. Misrepresentations of our meeting with kids and parents today abound; if my words have offended anybody, it is not my intention and I sincerely apologise.
