A CRPF soldier in Qazigund shoots himself to death

Nov. 10, Qazigund: In the Qazigund region of the Kulgam district of south Kashmir, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier is believed to have shot himself to death with his service weapon close to the Jawhar tunnel.

The CRPF soldier was on duty close to B-top in the Jawhar Tunnel region of Qazigund when he shot himself, an official informed the news outlet Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “On the spot, the CRPF man passed away,” he said.

According to him, his corpse was taken to a hospital for a postmortem and any required legal proceedings.

“It was not immediately clear why he took this drastic measure,” the official said (KNO).
