As part of confidence-building efforts between the civilian population and the security forces, the 21st Battalion of the Indian Territorial Border Police has organised this tour as part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Students and teachers gave their impressions on the Bharat Darshan Tour to Chief Guest Vijay Bhati, Commandant of the 21st Battalion of the ITBP in Srinagar.

During the excursion, students from some of the most inaccessible parts of the Kashmir valley had the opportunity to engage in conversation with the Governor of Rajasthan, Kalraj Mishra, and toured the Constitution Park at Rajbhawan. In addition, the tour group went to the National Police Museum, Qutub Minar, and made a metro visit to the nation’s capital city, Delhi. They also went to Jaipur-Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Jal Mahal, Zoological Park, and Hawa Mahal; Jodhpur-Mehrangarh Fort and Historical Monuments; and Jaisalmer-Longewala War Memorial and the Indo-Pak border in Longewala. According to a statement, “the Bharat Darshan tour will help the students develop a better understanding of the diversity of India at large and become responsible citizens,” and this will be accomplished through the students’ participation in the journey.

The commandant of the 21st Battalion asked the students to use the knowledge and experiences they received during the tour to make an effort to bring about positive changes in society.

Gajender Singh Saun, the Second-in-Command, gave a warm welcome to all of the attendees and let them know that this was the sixth tour in the Bharat Darshan series that this particular unit was hosting. The excursion was led by Nazuddin Khan, Assistant Commandant of the 21st Battalion of the Indian Territorial Border Police in Srinagar, Zahoor Ahmad Malla, and Humira Syed, Head Teacher and Teacher of the Government Girls Higher School in Watergam Rafiabad (J&K), and a total of 26 pupils (12 girls and 14 boys) from the Government Girls Higher School in Watergam Rafiabad.
