The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) held a party convention in Sagipora in Rafiabad, according to a news statement issued in Srinagar on September 6th.

In his address to the convention, senior party leader Taj Mohiuddin said that the DPAP is dedicated to working relentlessly for the peace and prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He continued by saying that those individuals who are crooked and do not have a vision for Jammu and Kashmir would find no doors open to them.

“Let me tell you that our party, headed by Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad, is dedicated to working for the good of the people. “It has only pro-people agendas, where we can ensure that every family in the UT lives in peace and earns with dignity,” Taj Mohiuddin said. “It has no other agendas.” Another prominent official named G. M. Saroori said that all of the succeeding administrations have fallen short of living up to the aspirations of the people, but that the DPAP is the only party that has become the voice of every street and mohalla in the UT. We are not in power, but when we see that our people are being treated unfairly, we do not hesitate to go to the streets in a nonviolent manner. Our efforts to safeguard the rights of people is obvious from the nonviolent street demonstrations that we had when the coercive land eviction operation was initiated, and we did not stop until the government pulled back the order,” he stated.

Saroori said that the people are fed up with the political parties who have been misleading them at all times and individually seeking blessings from the BJP to obtain political gains and riches for themselves and their family. The people are angry up with the political parties since they have been befooling them at all times. “However, the DPAP is the only party that champions the people’s cause. In his words, “its agenda is to strengthen the economy of the people and ensure that jobs are created for the youth who are currently unemployed.” According to him, the disciplinary committee of the party removed some of the party officials because they were engaged in actions that were detrimental to the party and were fostering groupism.
