On Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led an effort to clean up Ahmedabad as part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign.

In reaction to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a “cleanliness drive,” this event was planned to get people from all walks of life involved in the effort.

Amit Shah helped clean up the area around the Ranip bus stop in Ahmedabad, India.

At the same time, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took part in a cleanup programme on Laxmangarh Hill in the Ghatlodia neighbourhood, which is part of his assembly district.

Shah praised Prime Minister Modi’s call for everyone to clean up on the day before Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday anniversary in a post on social media site X.

“Tomorrow is Gandhi Jayanti, so let’s clean up our streets, neighbourhoods, and public spaces as a real tribute to Pujya Bapu. We also have a moral obligation to keep our surroundings clean. “Let’s all work together to make India clean,” said Patel, India’s Chief Minister.

The national cleaning programme, which started on September 15 and will last for two weeks, tries to get people all over the country involved through different events.

The current Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2023 campaign is called “Garbage-Free India,” which emphasises how important it is to have a better, healthier country.
