Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, a former minister and current member of the Jammu and Kashmir BJP, said today that the laying of the foundation stone for the transformation of three existing railway stations under the ‘Amrit Bharat Stations’ scheme is another landmark in the transportation sector of this UT under the Narender Modi government.

In a statement, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allocating Rs 294 crore to upgrade the Jammu Tawi, Badgam, and Udhampur train stations to world-class status.

According to Dr. Manyal, not only will three railway stations be redeveloped as part of the mega projects, but more than 500 stations across the country will also undergo renovations. This is evidence that, for the first time in its history, Jammu and Kashmir is being fairly represented by the federal government. This shows the Union government’s commitment to uniting the country in its pursuit of growth and wealth, and it deserves praise.

Upon completion, the redeveloped railway stations will feature a roof plaza, shopping zone, food court, kids play area, segregated entry and exit gates, multi-level parking, lift escalators, executive lounge, waiting area, travelator, and divyangjan friendly facilities, according to the BJP leader.

He said that Jammu, like the more well-known Kashmir, receives a great deal of visitors from all across India on account of its status as a religious and tourism destination.
