Budgam, Nov. 18: A Budgam court found a man guilty on Saturday of killing his wife 12 years before.

Further Meetings Mushtaq Ahmad Pandith, also known as Bilal, was found guilty by Budgam district judge Aijaz Ahmad Khan of killing his spouse Sameera Jan in May 2011 at their married home in Kralpora village in Central Kashmir.”The accused, despite having the opportunity to assert his defense of not being present on the scene on the day of the incident, has not been able to present any evidence to demonstrate that the accused was not present on the spot on that fateful day,” the court said in its ninety-page ruling. After the prosecution was able to establish Pandith’s culpability in the case, the court found him guilty of murder.
According to the prosecution’s evidence, Sameera Jan was discovered dead on May 1, 2011, with a knife stab wound to her back in her husband’s home. Shortly after the incident, her spouse fled the scene. 13 May 2011 saw him taken into custody in Jammu.
