Diwali 2023: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has declared that the final metro train service on Diwali will commence at 10:00 p.m. on November 12, 2023, from the terminal stations of all lines, including the Airport Express Line.

DMRC, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, has shifted its schedule for Diwali service. As announced by DMRC, metro train service on Diwali, a Sunday, would begin at 06:00 am on all lines and sections and at 4:45 am on the Airport Express Line. On November 12 at 10:00 p.m., all lines, including the Airport Express Line, will terminate operations. On the day of Diwali, all metro lines will operate until 10 p.m. rather than 11 p.m. Even at 10:05, there will be no metro trains available at any of the terminal stations. As a result, everyone on the late-night subway should be at the station by 10 o’clock. In addition, the Airport Express Line will begin operation at 4:45 a.m., while all other lines will begin service at 6 a.m. The subway is running 60 more trips today.

It’s worth noting that recent years have seen a dramatic rise in Delhi’s air pollution levels. As such, GRAP has been put into effect in the Delhi-National Capital Region. Since there is no disruption to service, ridership on the metro has been steadily increasing since last Friday, when 60 more trips were added.

After Group 2 limitations were put in place, the Principal Executive Director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Anuj Dayal, said on October 25 that there will be 40 extra journeys of the Metro on all working days beginning on October 25, with an increase of 20 trips beginning on Friday. By adding an extra 60 round-trips each day across all lines, Metro hopes to encourage more people to use the train and decrease pollution in Delhi.
