Jammu, September 8: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said on Friday that the police and security personnel in the Doda-Kishtwar region were completely watchful, and anybody acting from across the border to resurrect terrorism would be found and destroyed with an iron fist.
At the Shaheed Aman Memorial T20 cricket tournament’s concluding ceremony in Kishtwar, the DGP was answering questions from the media.
“Chenab valley has continued to be a target (of terrorist attacks).” But I want to make it clear right now that it won’t continue to be that way. Because they had attempted to resurrect terrorism by sowing its seeds in Rajouri-Poonch. In answer to a similar question, he said, “But we are seriously dealing with it with the attitude to nip the evil in the bud so as to not allow its resurgence.
As Rajouri lies close to the Reasi district and borders parts of the Kashmir Valley, he said. As a result, they (the enemies) constantly work to make it easier for terrorists to cross the Line of Control from the Pakistani side towards Rajouri and Poonch, from which they can either travel to Reasi and then to Kashmir or directly from Rajouri-Poonch to the Valley through its neighbouring areas.
“Many of those who attempted or engaged in infiltration have died. In the Doda-Kishtwar range, police and other security personnel are on high alert. Even the locals are prepared to respond sternly to anybody attempting to stir up trouble, incite terrorism locally, or participate in anti-national or terrorist actions, according to DGP Singh.
He said that those anti-national individuals working from the other side of the border (Pakistan) and wishing to resurrect terrorism here were receiving a loud and obvious message. They won’t be let to dwell there in peace. There, in what are apparently secure havens, we’ll find them and kill them. With an iron fist, we will destroy all such components, Singh said.
